Con la pequeña etapa superespecial de 1,90 km daba comienzo el Rallye de Suecia de este 2015, que tenía un inicio sorprendente, ya que el mejor tiempo iba a parar a un participante del wrc2, el local Pontus Tidemand a los mandos de un Ford Fiesta RRC.
Por detrás de este quedaban Mats Otsberg a 0,3 segundos y Jari-Matti Latvala a 0,4 seg.
Neuville y Tanak se clasificaron a continuación y para encontrar al vigente campeón mundial, y actual líder del mundial, había que irse hasta el 7º lugar.
En las diferentes categorías, se imponía Tidemand en el Wrc2 por delante de otro local Fredrik Ahlen con un Ford Fiesta R5 y de Anders Grondal con un Citroën Ds3 R5.
