El asturiano José Antonio Suárez “Cohete” y el joven francés Jordan Berfa lucharán en el mundial con el equipo Peugeot.
Mientras que el asturiano logró ganar la 208 Rallye Cup y asegurarse un programa con el Peugeot 208 T16 dentro del WRC-2, el francés logró la tercera plaza y ser el primer junior y estará con un Peugeot 208 R2 en el WRC-3.
Cohete, acompañado por Cándido Carrera, estarán en 5 pruebas, las cuales serán Monte-Carlo, Portugal, Italia, Alemania y Francia. Por su parte, Jordan Berfa, estará en Monte-Carlo, Alemania y Francia.
En palabras de Bruno Famin, director de Peugeot Sport, “For 2016, we were keen to focus even more closely on the development of young talents graduating from the 208 Rally Cup, by allowing them to progress directly to the world championship stage. José Antonio Suárez has already demonstrated his impressive raw speed, and I have no doubt that he will quickly get to grips with the 208 T16, which is one of the established WRC2 benchmarks on both gravel and asphalt. Jordan Berfa, meanwhile, will have at his disposal the potent 208 R2 – a car that he knows inside-out – as he bids to shine at international level!”
